Why Our Practice is Based on Doctrine

We strongly believe in and are committed to the centrality of the preaching of the Word of God. Our reasoning is that the more one knows about the Word of God, the more they will know of the God of the Word!
Then, the more one knows of the God of the Word, the more they learn of all He has done for them and thus, the more they will love Him for it.
Then, the more one loves Him the more they will genuinely worship Him, live for Him, serve Him, give to Him and evangelize for Him. It all comes from the Word of God!

At GBC we strive to focus on Truth! Because God declares that He uses Truth as applied by the Holy Spirit to change lives. (Jn. 8:32)
At GBC the Bible is read, the Bible is preached from and the Bible is studied because only the Bible is absolute Truth! (Jn. 17:17) It is God's “self revelation” to us, His creation!
In 1 Cor. 1:18 the Apostle Paul says that: “The Word of God is... power to those who are being saved”
And how will they get God's Word? Paul adds in Vs. 21: “...God was well pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.”
Again in Rom. 10:17 Paul says: “Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God” this too was in the context of the preaching! Paul had just said in Vs. 14 “...And how will they hear without a preacher?”

At GBC we’re not interested in "truth" as someone sees it; we want the Truth as God says it!
Thus, at GBC we focus on Exegetical and Expositional messages, passionately preached from God's Inspired, Infallible and Complete Word.

"Ditty sermons from ditty preachers make ditty Christians!"
Pastor Ernest Reisinger
